Access to any of the DNA samples and contributing datasets cannot be guaranteed by the WADB as this requires the approval of each of the DNA/data Custodians involved in the request. External users will be required to enter into negotiations with individual Custodians within the WADB for access that will necessarily involve defining authorship and cost recovery.
Download and read the WA DNA Bank Access Policy before commencing your application (the Policy outlines important information about accessing any DNA stored in the WADB facility).
Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) Approval letter for your proposed research
Letter (or email correspondence) from Custodian approving your access to their DNA collection
Send the completed Application to the WADB Manager by post or email (high quality scans). You are strongly advised to contact the Manager to discuss your Application first.
If all the details are completed correctly and the Manager has been advised by the Custodian to proceed, a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) and a schedule of applicable fees will be forwarded to the applicant for signing.
When the WADB Manager obtains written agreement from the Custodian to release the DNA samples they will be transported to the nominated address by Courier.
